Alaska Commercial Company (AC) is thrilled to announce the successful completion of this year’s MDA Kings for Kids Salmon Run, raising an impressive $25,000 to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The fundraiser, which took place from May 26 to July 7, has become an annual event that empowers children and adults living with neuromuscular diseases.
Each year, AC hosts the MDA Kings for Kids Salmon Run, inviting community members to participate by donating $1 or more when they checkout at AC. In return, donors can write their names on a King Salmon card, which is then displayed in AC stores. This initiative not only accelerates research and advances care but also advocates for those affected by Muscular Dystrophy. Additionally, children had the opportunity to take their King Salmon home to color and return to the stores, fostering community engagement and awareness.
MDA envisions a future where newly diagnosed patients can live without the effects of neuromuscular disease. Every King Salmon hung on an AC wall this summer represents a step towards this goal, symbolizing hope and progress in the fight against these conditions.
AC thanks the dedicated team of store employees throughout Alaska for their crucial role in the fundraiser’s success and the generous customers who contributed to this life-changing cause. Together, we are making strides toward a brighter future for those living with neuromuscular diseases. Learn more at MDA.org.
