On October 3rd, Alaska Commercial Company launched a mobile app. Now, you can order fresh groceries from your AC store, right from your smartphone. The app is available on Google Play™ and the App Store®.
If you have ordered groceries from AC using our previous shopping site, you may have wished the experience included things like prices on the item pages, and the ability to pay for your order online. The AC app offers those features, and many more.
AC believes that Alaskans deserve easier access to fresh groceries. We set up an ordering site during the COVID-19 pandemic to enable you to get the groceries you needed, even as we had to close stores or limit customer numbers in-store. AC has spent the past two years working to improve our grocery ordering service.
When you shop using the AC app, you get new options and features to make grocery shopping easier and more convenient. Pay for your order online, using a credit or debit card, AC gift card, or any Virtual Wallet rewards you earn. Get order status updates via email, text, and app notifications, depending on the preferences you set. You’ll always get order status updates via email, though. Order a custom cake or cupcakes from the Bakery department in the app, complete with size, flavor, filling, and edible decoration options (some exceptions apply). Use the low-bandwidth mode in the app, to cut down data usage while you shop.
Creating an account in the app gives you access to even more features. Check in-app pricing on select items. In addition to regular sale items, each store has a few products with special pricing that you can see when you’re logged into your app account. You can also apply those same discounts in the store, when you ask the cashier to scan the Virtual Wallet barcode in your app. See your order history in-app. You can shop as a guest, but if you shop while signed into your app account, it allows your order history to be saved to that account, so you can see it later in the app.
Save items to shopping lists. When shopping while signed into your app account, you can create lists and save items to them. For instance, you could create a list for an upcoming birthday, and then quickly add those items to your cart when you’re ready. Your AC orders are filled by the same dedicated store teams who serve you every day. Just like all our bush orders, online orders placed through the app are carefully packed by our store team and shipped air freight on the next available flight.
The new AC app is a convenient way to place your bush orders or curbside pickup orders. Feeling under the weather and can’t shop in-store? You can order online and have a friend or relative pick up your order. Some markets also offer home delivery. When you start shopping in the app, enter your zip code and select your home store. The app is built to show you products that your store carries, for an easier and more accurate shopping experience.
