Every September, AC stores across Alaska come together to celebrate Customer Appreciation Day, an annual tradition to thank the communities we serve. From cake walks to Oreo stacking contests, our store managers organize a variety of games and activities for all ages. Customers have the chance to win prizes ranging from AC gift cards to high-value items like televisions, bikes, grills, and camping gear. Many stores also host fun events such as face painting or hula hooping, and we give out plenty of AC balloons for kids to take home.
The Customer Appreciation Day BBQ is always a highlight, serving up burgers or hot dogs, chips, and drinks. AC donates the food and proceeds from lunch sales or donations are directed to local charities and organizations. At the end of the day, a check is presented to the community group, turning the day into a meaningful celebration for local causes.
Behind the scenes, our store managers are the true heroes of the event. They plan around the weather, source the prizes, coordinate the games, and often spend the day on the grill while keeping everything running smoothly. Their hard work and dedication make this day possible.
